What you’ll do

Looking to get out of the grind to make a foundational difference in a burgeoning ecosystem and product segment? Cosmonic is looking for a hands-on VP of Product to drive our product vision across the developer onboarding, discovery, and evaluation experiences. As the first executive level position to collaborate with the founders this is a high impact role reporting directly to the CEO. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with experience building products on serverless technologies, Platforms as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).

WebAssembly is now the fourth language of the web and is supported today on all major browsers, mobile devices, and cloud platforms. It’s being rapidly adopted by developers and enterprises to deliver the experience of tomorrow. Cosmonic was founded by the team behind CNCF wasmCloud, a popular WebAssembly framework adopted today by hundreds of organizations to deliver secure and portable applications.

Cosmonic is built by developers for developers. Our goal is to make Cosmonic the best venue for distributed application development. This is a high-visibility role requiring you to work closely with customers and the Cosmonic development team, advocating for customer needs while keeping development plans on course.

Please note that this position can be based out of any continental US location and is remote.

Your responsibilities will include engaging with developer customers, Cosmonic engineers, and the WebAssembly community to identify requirements, product features, and work closely with development teams to get those features into the hands of our customers. Successful applicants will have experience defining products, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to a large number of stakeholders with different levels of knowledge and expertise. The successful candidate will be an excellent written and verbal communicator. On this team, you’ll get to wear many hats, work fast and smart, and iterate quickly. We are looking for someone who is ready to take ownership of a growing product and join a tightly-knit team tackling a very interesting and challenging opportunity. An ideal candidate will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get to work and also have a strategic vision for how they would like to develop their organization.

Basic Qualifications

• BS or BA in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of product management, program management, and/or engineering experience in a technology-focused business
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience managing technical products or online services
• Prior experience building Platforms as a Service ( PaaS )
• Prior experience building and scaling self-service Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses
• Proficient with web services, online technologies, and user experience design
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a track record for delivering results in fast-moving environments
• History of developing business strategy in conjunction with senior leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Completion of a full product lifecycle
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
